In Memory 3

I thank the Dog's Trust at Hampstead Marshall for allowing me to adopt Scrappy as a pup. They entrusted this special boy to me and I am indebted to them for giving me the opportunity to share his life.

'Scraps' you saw me through some very dark times in our 16 years together..........I am sad that you never got to share my happiness at Newbury Lodge

Thank you

Mum (Anji)

Mum's messsage...............

I Only Wanted You

They say memories are golden

well maybe that is true.

I never wanted memories,

I only wanted you.

A million times I needed you,

a million times I cried.

If love alone could have saved you

you never would have died.

In life I loved you dearly,

in death I love you still.

In my heart you hold a place

no one could ever fill.

If tears could build a stairway

and heartache make a lane,

I'd walk the path to heaven

and bring you back again.

Our family chain is broken,

and nothing seems the same.

But as God calls us one by one,

the chain will link again.

Scrappy's message........

The Last Battle

If it should be that I grow frail and weak and pain should keep me from my sleep,

Then will you do what must be done, for this -- the last battle -- can't be won.

You will be sad I understand, but don't let grief then stay your hand,

For on this day, more than the rest, your love and friendship must stand the test.

We have had so many happy years, you wouldn't want me to suffer so.

When the time comes, please, let me go. Take me to where to my needs they'll tend,

Only, stay with me till the end. And hold me firm and speak to me

Until my eyes no longer see. I know in time you will agree

It is a kindness you do to me. Although my tail its last has waved,

From pain and suffering I have been saved. Don't grieve that it must be you

Who has to decide this thing to do;

We've been so close -- we two -- these years,

Don't let your heart hold any tears.
